Child Safety Seat Technician Training
The National CPS Certification Training is a program of Safe Kids Worldwide, which is the certifying body and responsible for managing all aspects of the program.
South Central PA Highway Safety (SCPAHS) works closely with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (responsible for the curriculum) and the National Child Passenger Safety Board (provides recommendations and guidance).
CPS technicians and instructors use their considerable knowledge and expertise at a variety of community-based activities, such as child safety seat checks, where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistance.
Along with Penn DOT, Pennsylvania State Police and other local law enforcement and community groups, SCPAHS offers training classes (twice a year) to help keep CPS technicians and instructors up-to-date on the latest technical information about child passenger safety through seminars and other continuing education opportunities.
